The Dalton Data Bank is brought to you by volunteers who have spent countless hours extracting Dalton data from a variety of sources.  The Bank will eventually include the data of Daltons who were in Africa. Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, France, India, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the United States or wherever Daltons located.  Currently, there may be upwards of 750,000 persons of Dalton descent world-wide whom we eventually want to reach from our desktops.

The Bank opened on September 1, 2001 with about 10,000 bits of Dalton data. They include Dalton namesakes, their wives, children, in-laws, sponsors, witnesses and female Daltons. In addition to country files, there are several large files as listed below. The format is simple and each data depository screen can be searched from the Edit/Find function of your PC.

This is an ambitious, ongoing project and data will be added as it is received and processed.  The site is temporary, space is limited, and eventually the data will be moved to larger quarters.  At this point in time, not all country sites contain data and in some sites the data is sparse. Needed is not commonly available data; from parish registers, historical volumes, censuses, military records, land grants, etc.  If you have researched your Dalton family and wish to contribute your data to the Bank, it will be most welcome.  Contact: DaltonData@aol.com.  As with all data, it is the onus of the user to verify it.
